Q. How many years have you been in business?
We have been in business for nearly four years. We are well-established
and growing. We sell our products directly from our web site, via our
distribution and retail partners and through large retail stores such as
Costco.
Our registered company name is “Titan HDTV Accessories Corp.” When you
buy something from us that’s what will show up on your credit card or
PayPal account. Our trading name, or dba (“doing business as”) name is
Kanto AV, Kanto AV Systems or Kanto Speakers.
Q. Where can I find information about your Company?
A. On this website or feel free to call us anytime.
Q. Where can I find some customer testimonials?
If you go to the navigation bar at the top of this page you'll see a section called "Reviews". You'll find customer and trade testimonials there.
Q. Are Kanto Speakers Designed to work with other MP3 players?
A. Yes. Although the complete functionality afforded to iPod users by the integrated dock is not available for other players, they can still be connected to our speakers using one of the two alternate inputs allowing for optimal sonic performance.
Q. Can I control the speaker output using the iPod Equalizer
A. Yes you can.
When you connect your iPod to a Kanto Speaker system it will take the
current Equalizer setting you have defined. To find what this might be
on your iPod go to: Settings > Playback > EQ
Select a setting that you would like and the speaker system will pick up
the setting and use it.
You can override these settings by using the remote control unit that
came with your Kanto Speaker System.
Q. What are the holes in the back of the speakers for?
A. They are the bass reflex ports where deep frequencies resonate contributing to the rich, full sound of Kanto speakers. Instead of radiating aimlessly from the speakers, powerful bass is directed to reflect off the wall behind the speakers creating a clean output that never sounds muddy.
Q. What benefits do Kanto Speakers give me as an iPod user?
In addition to simply playing your music on exceptional speakers, the dock charges your iPod and can also be controlled from a distance with the remote control.
Q. What does the remote do?
The remote gives you full control over your iPod from a distance. Each input mode (iPod, RCA and Auxiliary) has its own button, and of course, all the basics are included; volume, forward, back, mute, etc. Only the remote controls the bass and treble.
Q. What else can I use Kanto Speakers with?
A. The great thing about having three different input types is the variety of options it gives you. On top of the iPod-specific dock, selectable RCA and Auxiliary inputs allow you to combine almost any stereo device with a plug that fits with our speakers. Laptop and desktop computers, both portable and home-bound CD and DVD players, and even other stereo systems and VCRs can all be used effectively.
Q. What kind of warranty do you offer?
A. Products can be returned to Kanto Speakers for a full refund within 30 days of purchase if the product was purchased directly from our website. Any returned products must contain all original packaging and contents. Kanto covers all parts defective in material and workmanship for one year from the purchase date. Kanto will, at it’s sole option, repair or replace any defective parts free of charge. Return product with original proof of purchase.
Q. Where are all the controls?
A. We opted for a clean look to our speakers. Look on the back for a volume control and a small input selector button. Better still, use the 21 function remote for full control of your iPod and selection of input devices, including bass and treble controls.
Q. Where do the cables plug in?
A. You might be used to seeing cables spewing out the tops or fronts of other products and speakers, but we choose a simpler approach keeping both input and output cables and ports on the back of our units. We feel that cables have limited aesthetic appeal and your desk is already messy enough so we put them where they belong.
Q. Why are Kanto Speakers “Made for iPod”?
A. Kanto-powered Speakers are fully functioning systems for both iPods and all other MP3 players and audio sources. By spending the time and effort required to acquire Made for iPod designation we ensure that our speakers will work with all iPods; past, present, and those still to come.
Q. Why are Kanto Speakers so heavy?
A. In the production of our speakers we utilize high-quality acoustic MDF. This heavy fiber board helps to manage and absorb powerful output so the speakers sound great even in extreme conditions. It also allows deep bass to resonate through the bass reflex ports.
Q. Why are there two separate volume controls; one on the back of the unit and one on the remote?
A. So you can crank up the sound manually without looking for the remote! Each volume adjustment on the back of the speaker or the remote do the same thing... adjust the volume.
Q. Why is there an AC voltage receptacle on the back of the iPair 5 and SYD 5?
A. We put that there so you can plug an Apple Airport Express directly into the back of the speakers, add a 3.5mm cable and plug that into the auxiliary plug on the back and now you can stream audio from your iTunes on your computer directly to the speakers. No need for a docked iPod.
